Forms and Files That Feed the CRM

Ask the questions that qualify a visitor, then send the guide, price sheet or brochure they asked for. Upward records both against the same person.

WHAT IT ISUpward forms collect structured answers: the Contact Me form, the questions on each booking and the enquiry form on a MySite. Files are shared from File Management through links you can protect with a password, set to expire, allow or block downloading for, and track. Every submission and every share is written to the CRM timeline.

Forms, and where each one lives

Upward does not have one generic form. It has the right form in each place a visitor acts, and they share the same question types, so what you learn once works everywhere.

  • Contact Me: a message form on your Bio / Profile Page and, if you like, on your own website.
  • Booking questions: asked after a visitor picks a time, for example property type, budget or a document upload.
  • MySite enquiry form: a short quote or enquiry form on a MySite, with fields you choose.
  • Page builder: pages you build can include a Contact form block, a Files block and a Book a meeting block.

Question types that fit real intake

A good intake form asks the fewest questions that let you act. Choose from dropdown, multi-select, radio button, checkbox, text, text area, number and file upload. Mark a question required only when you cannot proceed without it. Numbers can have a minimum and maximum, uploads can be limited to certain file types and a maximum number of files, and every answer is validated before anything is saved.

What a submission creates

A submitted form is not only an email. It creates a record you can work.

  • A Contact Me submission creates or updates a lead with the source Contact form and adds a note listing every field and the page it came from.
  • A booking creates or updates a lead, with the answers saved as part of the lead.
  • A MySite enquiry creates a lead, or attaches to the lead the MySite was made for, and records the activity.
  • A MySite form can be set to keep the message without creating a lead when you prefer.
  • You are notified by email in every case.

Share files with control

Files live in File Management. When you share one, you decide who can open it and for how long. A share link can be set for anyone with the link or sent to a specific lead or contact.

  • Password: require a password to open the link.
  • Expiry: set the number of days until the link stops working.
  • Download: allow viewing only, or viewing and downloading.
  • Tracked: tie the link to a person so their activity is recorded and you can be alerted.
  • Files or whole folders can be shared, subject to your company settings.

Know what happened after you shared

When you share a file with a lead or contact, a note appears on their timeline, for example Shared a file with a tracked link. Every public view is counted and logged with the date. Tracked links go further: for a link made for a known person, you can be alerted on the first click and on repeat clicks, with a cooldown so you are not flooded and optional quiet hours. The share audit lists each share with when, who shared, who received it and whether it was tracked.

Files that follow the booking

Meetings can send the right document at the right time. In a meeting type's workflows, an email trigger can attach a document, a document link or a video, for example a prep checklist one day before or a recording link after the meeting. The visitor gets the same message every time, and you do not have to remember to send it.

One timeline for the whole conversation

Because forms, files, email and meetings all write to the same CRM record, the person's history reads in order: the form they sent, the guide you shared, the email they opened and the meeting they booked. Nothing needs to be exported or merged by hand.

How it works

Use Contact Me for general messages, booking questions for meetings and the enquiry form on a MySite for a personal page.

Add your questions

Choose a type, set it required or optional, and drag it into place.

Upload and share files

Add a file or folder in File Management and create a link with the protection you want.

See who engaged

One CRM timeline holds the form answer, the file and the follow-up email

Frequently asked questions

Which forms does Upward have?

The Contact Me form on your page, the custom questions on each meeting type, the enquiry form on a MySite and a Contact form block you can place on pages made in the page builder. They use the same question types.

Where do form answers go?

Into the CRM. Contact Me and MySite forms create or update a lead and add a timeline note. Booking answers are saved on the booking and copied to the lead.

Can visitors upload files through a form?

On a booking, yes. Uploaded files are stored and linked from the booking. On the Contact Me form a file question currently records the file name only.

How do I send a file to a visitor?

Open the file in File Management, choose Share and pick a lead, a contact or anyone with the link. Add an optional message, and set a password, an expiry and whether downloads are allowed.

Can I tell if someone opened my file?

Each public view is counted and logged in the file's activity. If you shared with a tracked link to a lead or contact, the activity is tied to that person and you can be alerted.

Can I put a file on my Bio / Profile Page?

A file share is an ordinary link, so you can add it to your Links module or send it in any message. The page builder also has a Files block for pages you build.

Can a company limit downloads?

Yes. Company settings can switch off external downloads, including folder downloads, and sharing then respects that rule.
