Upward doesn't use passwords. Every sign-in is confirmed with a one-time code sent to the member's own email or phone.
WHAT IT ISPasswords are the most common way accounts are compromised — they get reused, guessed, phished, shared or leaked in other companies' breaches. Upward removes them entirely. To sign in, a member enters their email or phone number and Upward sends a one-time, short-lived verification code to that inbox or device. Only the person who controls that email or phone can get in, which greatly reduces the chance of someone accidentally or intentionally accessing an account. There's no password to forget, write down, reuse or steal. Behind sign-in, role-based permissions (stored separately from profiles), row-level data isolation between companies and encrypted integration credentials keep each account's data limited to the people who should see it.
